Grade: 11th

Background/interests/hobbies: I immigrated to the United States from India when I was 9 years old, and since then have found community through reading and writing about others like me.

Reason for applying to the workshop: I really enjoy investigative journalism, and I applied to the Acel Moore High School Journalism Workshop because it seemed like an amazing opportunity for me to explore my love for this hobby and be in a space that shows me what journalism would look like as a career.

Future plans: I’m not 100% sure what I want to do in the future, but I know that I’m really passionate about asking questions and shedding light on issues that aren’t as well known, and I know I want to keep working towards that, hopefully through reporting and journalism.
