Background/Interests/Hobbies: She has been in her school’s marching band all four years of high school, playing in the drumline. She is also a very active member of six different school clubs. Additionally, she is a varsity bowler for her school.

Reasons for applying for the workshop: Valerie has always had an interest in writing and journalism, so she took the opportunity to be a part of such a useful and eye-opening experience.

Looking ahead: As Valerie looks ahead, she will attend college in the fall of 2020, with the intended major of either speech pathology or pre-physical therapy. She is unsure where she will be attending college, but hopes to stay in the Philadelphia area.
