Grade: 12th

Background/interests/hobbies: I like nature, spending time with my family and friends, reading, writing, and meeting new people. As an Indian American, I enjoy celebrating my culture and hence practice Indian classical dance and music.

Reason for applying to the workshop: I took part in the program last year and heavily benefited from meeting award-winning and highly accomplished journalists. Producing two stories under their guidance really helped me understand my potential as a journalist and what a future in journalism could look like. I really wanted to experience the comfortable and enriching environment of The Philadelphia Inquirer family again and hence decided to return!

Future plans: As I graduate high school, I eagerly look forward to a career in journalism, especially international correspondence and war coverage. I hope to report from the Middle East and plan on learning Arabic too.
