Background/interests/hobbies:  I serve in a number of leadership capacities that provide me with the platform to effect meaningful change. My interests include community service, writing, singing, and acting.

Reason for applying to the workshop: I want to strengthen my passion not only in the field of journalism but also in spreading awareness to my community. My passion for journalism stems from the desire to dismantle houses of oppression that impact people of color. I believe that there is power in Black representation, which is why Acel Moore’s journalism workshop was the link to fulfilling my passion. By following in the footsteps of journalists like Ida B. Wells and Acel Moore, my journalistic vision could absolutely become a reality.

Future plans: In the fall of 2023, I will further my passion for journalism at Spelman College, majoring in political science with a minor in African American Studies.
