Background/Interests/Hobbies: Meelah was born in University City, Philadelphia. She really enjoys writing poetry. She is a member of the Model UN, as well as the Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) at her school.

Reason for applying to the workshop: Meelah applied to the workshop “to become a better writer and steer away from opinion pieces.” She plans to tell a story without any bias.

Looking ahead: Meelah wants to be a journalist and writer and learn things from the stories she tells. She is also interested in becoming a lawyer and a psychologist in the future.
