Background/interests/hobbies: I am from Northeast Philadelphia and have lived all over that area. I enjoy reading historical fiction and science fiction novels, because they connect reality with a little drama. I come from a big family and I love to share my work with them! My siblings especially motivate me to write impactful articles that will educate everyone.
Reason for applying to the workshop: I applied to this workshop because I wanted to see how an actual journalist works on an average day. I wanted to also surround myself with students my age that have a similar passion to mine. I haven’t really been able to find peers with the same interests as me before, so this program has given me the opportunity to connect with those people.
Future plans: I am a senior in high school, and I have already been accepted into a few colleges. I am not completely sure where I am going, but I know that I am majoring in journalism. I want to work for a news company that aims to educate people about current events, instead of pushing certain agendas to their audience. I want to be the change.
