Tamir Harper

Tamir Harper is a 16-year-old junior at Science Leadership Academy @ Center City. Whether he is participating in school or city matters, he is always putting his best foot forward.

Tamir enjoys public speaking. He speaks for the students in the Philadelphia Public School system using his position on the Student Advisory Council organized by the superintendent. He is an advocate for them and works to ensure they have the ideal settings for learning. He advocates for diversity in the classroom and good teacher-student relations.

Tamir is not only a fixture in Philadelphia student society, but also in his school, SLA @ Center City. He is involved in such clubs such as Community Involvement Club and Student Union. When he is not juggling his course load at SLA, he is taking extra classes at the Community College of Philadelphia.

When he is not doing the numerous activities above, he is networking through social media. Tamir can be seen checking his Twitter account often to stay in the know. As for his future, Tamir wants to attend college in the fall of 2018. He hopes to major in education and criminal justice and later earn a Ph.D in Urban Studies and earn his law degree.
